Diploma of Horticulture

This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge to gain employment in the horticulture industry. It is aimed at supervisory level for parks and gardens, nursery, landscape or general horticulture.

  • Horticulture Growing Principles
  • Business Management

Assessment Methods:

Continuous assessment is undertaken throughout the year by classroom discussion and participation, tests, practical reports, assignments and presentations, group work, role plays and folios.

Teaching Methods:

Lectures, guest speakers, seminars, field trips, industry visits, practical work.

Employment Options:

Supervisory positions or management in a horticulture enterprise.

Further Education Opportunities:

Horticulture degree at university. Some advanced standing may be granted.

Entry Requirements:

Mature age entry or completion of an approved Year 10 qualification. IELTS 5.5 or equivalent. Applicants must be willing and able to participate in outdoor, physical activities. Previous experience in horticulture, or a related field would be an advantage.
