DIPLOMA OF CONSERVATION AND LAND MANAGEMENT

This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge to gain employment in the conservation/land management field. It is aimed at technical and supervisory skills for bushland, park management and weed and vertebrate pest control.

Assessment Methods:

Continuous assessment is undertaken throughout the year by classroom discussion and participation, tests, practical reports, assignments and presentations, group work, role plays and folios.

Teaching Methods:

Lectures, guest speakers, seminars, field trips, industry visits, practical work.

Employment Options:

Technical or supervisory positions or park management, or weed and vertebrate pest control.

Further Education Opportunities:

Park Management or Resource Management degree at university. Some advanced standing may be granted. Rosebud Graduates may gain Advanced standings in Australian Maritime College courses.

Entry Requirements:

Mature age entry or completion of an approved year 12 qualification. IELTS 5.5 or equivalent. Applicants must be willing and able to participate in field based, off campus activities. Previous experience in park or bushland management, or a related field would be an advantage.
