Business Foundation Certificate:

EThames Graduate School Business Foundation Certificate is designed to prepare students for progression onto the 1st year of the BA (Hons) Business Management or BA (Hons) Accounting and Financial Management degree awarded by the University of Sunderland, or the Edexcel BTCE HNC/D Business Management course.

Eligibility is for students who cannot meet the academic and English language qualifications required for direct admission to these courses.

  • English for Academic Purposes II
  • Introduction to Accounting and Finance
  • Introduction to Business Communication
  • Introduction to Law

Entry Requirements:

  • Successful completion of high school qualifications (GCSE or equivalent). Note that students who did not achieve the grades required for direct admission to HNC/D or degree courses may be eligible for this course.
  • Reasonable Level of English Language (e.g. IELTS 5.0 or equivalent). Note that students without IELTS will be asked to take an English Language assessment prior to being accepted; the course duration offered will reflect the length of English course and meet a degree entry requirement.
  • Mature Entry Route: Students over 18 without any formal qualifications can apply through the mature entry route.

Duration: 12 months (with IELTS 5.0 or equivalent; course may be longer/shorter depending on level of English).

Intakes: January/April/August/October

Awarding Body: ABE (ABE Certificate), University of Cambridge or British Council (English Qualification).
