The Universiteit van Amsterdam (UvA) is a comprehensive, internationally oriented research university situated in the vibrant and cosmopolitan city of Amsterdam. It has one of the largest international curricula on the European continent available for students from all over the world.


INTERNATIONAL STUDY PROGRAMS: The UvA offers a wide range of programmes taught in English. The current  curriculum is comprised of over 100 English taught study programmes, including 85 master’s programmes.


LANGUAGE OF INSTRUCTION: All international study programmes are taught in English, with the exception of MA programmes in Modern European Languages, which are conducted in their language of study (French, German, Italian, Modern Greek, Romanian, Spanish, or one of the Scandinavian languages). Non-native English speakers are required to have obtained a sufficient score for an English proficiency test. For most programmes the minimum TOEFL score of 550 (or 213 for the computer based test or 79 for the Internet test) is sufficient, or 6.5 on the IELTS, or Cambridge International Examination require scores CAE: A/B+ or CPE: B or FCA: A+. Please be advised that some programmes require higher scores.


SCHOLARSHIPS: Various scholarship opportunities are available for talented students. These scholarships are offered by both the Universiteit van Amsterdam and the Dutch Government.
